CTS People Care Kenya

Posted 16 January 2012 by Arvind

At Claim Today Solicitors we are proud to say our lawyers work very hard to get out clients the best possible deal.  “That’s their job” you would probably reply, and of course that’s true, but there is so much more to it than that.

At CTS we recruit all our staff for their passion for helping others as well as their legal skills and. That’s why all our people give up some of their time to help charitable causes when they’re not working on winning for their clients.

A perfect example of this dedication to the needs of others came just before Christmas when two young lawyers from CTS gave up their holiday to help out in a Maasai village in Kenya. Neeru Karra and Alison Collins spent a week pitching in with a local family doing building and farming work when they weren’t teaching the village children.

The Maasai people have a hard time making a living. They’re engaged in a constant struggle against famine and disease, just fetching water for the village entails a half an hour walk through the forest to a spring which looks for all the world like a stagnant pond.

Despite the hardship they face Neeru and Alison found the Maasai to be extraordinarily generous people.  “We were humbled by the Maasai people’s strength in adversity and their kindness towards us. It made us very aware of how lucky we are at home. We are definitely going back next year and hope to be taking some of our colleagues with us”, said Alison.

As we always say, CTS people care.
